Creative Gifting- R is for Ruby

One of  the many wonderful things about being creative is that I can create very personal presents, handmade with love and best wishes. When someone extra special has something to celebrate like a birthday, wedding, anniversary or the like, I can think of the person and create a present suited to their personality or likes. One such occasion arose earlier this year and thankfully I had the time to create a special piece....

Presenting.........R is for Ruby

Mixed media on mini canvas and easel

Ruby lights up a room so I went  for as much sparkle as possible

The more glitz the better

I had so much fun making this for her

Armelle  my 6 year old kept saying "more sparkle mummy more!!"

One such example is this present above..... R is for Ruby- this young lady is so pleasant and charming, always a joy to be around and shocks me her wisdom, intelligence and  maturity. It is so wonderful to see kids of this current younger generation with such a pleasant demeanor. I look forward to seeing her grow into womanhood and accomplish great things in her life.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and perhaps are a little inspired to make something special for  someone special in the near future.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and encouraging you to live in the moment.

Best wishes Chelsea.

Angels come in all forms

Indeed.........Angels come in all forms

Sometimes in Life someone enters and their very presence make you believe there is good and wonder in All things.

The mere acts of kindness, thoughtfulness, gracefulness and charitable nature just make you want to be a better person.

sold

While I was completing my previous commissioned painting, a friend came to visit and fell in love the it. She commissioned the same with a  2 foot by 10 foot dimension ..to be displayed in her living room over her very large sofa. Here are a few photos of the completed painting , which was done in 2 pieces. She wanted the theme to be love but very abstract..so I placed 2 3D hearts into the painting to represent the love she has for life and her son.

Hope you enjoyed.....

Sold!

This is an Untitled Mixed Media painting

which was privately commissioned a few months ago, the client wanted a very large painting to warm up her living space. This is the third largest pieces I have done measuring 6 foot by 5 foot.

This abstract painting was such a pleasant project, it contains about 30 layers of medium and when completed was quite hefty. Gold paint was added in the end to reflect light and  to finish off  I glazed it with an iridescent spray. I will post  some more pics of the completed painting very soon. I really wanted to share the progress shots with you. Keep well.

Learning the Art of saying Goodbye!

I wanted to share with you the journey I am on at the moment. Sometimes as creative beings we put so much of ourselves in creating art that when it is time  for it to be taken away to be  exhibited, like I had to today.......I felt compelled  to say good bye and wish it well....and admittedly...I felt a little pang in my heart. So ......upon reflection.. I absolutely have to  learn to art of saying goodbye to my pieces. It does not happen with all my pieces but some I treasure so much because it hold s such symbolism and meaning to me.........yes I want other people to enjoy it, to put a smile on their face or conjure up certain positive and pleasant emotions and I know my art does this ( well according to feedback anyway!) but every so often when I create a piece that is especially close to my heart and it is rehoused to a place I know I wont have privy to ..I  feel  a bit of myself is gone. I do not know if I am making any sense here but this is how I feel. I know wherever it ends up I am pleased and as an artist I am forever flattered when a piece is sold.....I guess in a way I want to reassure the new owner that it was painted with the greatest love, passion and consideration........and I wish them every enjoyment..goodbye!

Abstract Art comisssioned

I created this piece  some  seven years ago. I remember clearly the night I painted it. My baby was only few weeks and I had someone visiting from abroad and I felt a bit overwhelmed having a long stay visitor when I was trying to find my feet as a new mum. At the time I was unable to verbalize how I felt so I transferred my emotions at the time unto canvas.Today I had the opportunity to turn this piece into something new, and felt why not, I have come a long since those years and I was happy to say goodbye to the piece. To me the new piece symbolizes all things coming together in the end. Sometimes we feel  like we are going round in circles but things almost always work out in the end.
