Rewind- Fiction Project 2011

Going Going Gone .....Starting this process was as difficult as sending it away! However... now it is on tour and being seen by many wonderful people all across America! And this is a wonderful thing!

The book is currently making it's way to  the USA. and goes on tour in June to New York,
San Fransisco, Chicago, Seattle, Florida and back to New York to be permanently cataloged at the Brooklyn Art Library.

Just a few words on the Fiction Project.

I am finished!!!!!!!!!!!

Just have to do the video in the next few days and off it goes to US of A.......friends suggested I host a send off party for it, so they can have one last peek and touch ...but I am so tired and have other projects I need to start urgently. So I will raise a glass quietly on my own and have a moment!

Fiction Project coming to an end!

I am feverishly working on completing the Fiction Project I have under 4 weeks to post it...ensuring it arrives on time to the USA.

............And I still have to catalog  the book plus make a video for you all to see how it eventually turned out. This project really has sent me on a creative journey and has pushed my boundaries and look at art and my creativity in a new way.

I hope you all are enjoying this lovely weekend...we went to Dutch Day at Trafalgar square yesterday and had a ball...........lots of people dressed in orange, yummy food, great entertainment and the crowd was buzzin............and many a tall people the dutch men are known to average the tallest in the world and from what I have seen yesterday and my trips to Holland  I can attest to that.

Keep well and enjoy the hours we have left.............until the work week begins.

Fiction Project March

As with any creative being.......sometimes we have a rush of inspiration, which comes in bucket loads and other times we lie still creatively until the wave takes us again. Other times we have go out there and find it or be out of our comfort zone so it can hit us in the face. Today I am on the hunt for inspiration to complete the last few pages of the fiction project. I have managed to write over a few pages, and as mentioned in my video I  will use some excerpts from my old diaries which will guarantee some on the floor laughter!!!!

Once the book is posted I will write excerpts from my diary on the blog to give my lovely followers a little flavor of my past life and the characters that flowed in and quickly out of my life.........so here I wish you a good day which will hopefully lead to a wonderful weekend despite the weather!!!!

The Fiction Project Update 1!

Hi everyone! I hope the year has been kind to you all so far.

As promised here is an update on my progress thus far..I used gesso on most of the pages to give it more body to work with as well as making it more versatile to apply all the mediums I plan to use.

 To date I have used the following;

• chalk pastels
• pens
• markers
• colour pencils
• coloured paper
•  felt pens 
• and alot of passion.

Plans for 2011!

Great news..........So I signed up for The Fiction Project and it came in the post a few days ago!!!! I am completely beside myself. 

This is run by the Art House Co-op. This book will be the property of The Brooklyn Art Library and kept as part of its permanent narrative collection!

The idea of the project is to share a story using any number of methods but must be 51% words in handwriting preferably. Each book is assigned a theme and mine is Happy Thoughts.  

The said book is a 40 paged 5.25 by  8.25 inches in moleskin black! yum.....lovely to touch but I will cover it with fabric and add a few different mediums to personalize it!

I am so excited as...

1. The book will go on tour around the United States which means that as most of my family and many friends live in the US they can view it!

  2.  For me it means I can really push my boundaries and include every medium possible to accompany my written word. Now let me make it very clear 'I am not a writer by any stretch of the imagination but I do have something to say and I have led a very interesting life. So I think this 3 month journey will be one of most creative and cathartic ones to date!

I will also be keeping an art journal about this experience and a video update on my progress. I will endeavor to upload photos as well.

If any of my lovely creative followers have made plans for this year and set challenges please share. I would love to hear from you.

Equally if anyone has previously done the fiction project and is willing to offer any advice or share their experience I will be overjoyed to hear from you.
